SYMPTOMS
The following error message is logged in the Programlog.txt file in Antigen:
Additionally, the same error message is logged in the Application log.
CAUSE
This problem occurs if Antigen takes more than 5 minutes to download the scan engine. By default, the time-out setting for the engine download process is 300 seconds, or 5 minutes. This problem may occur on slower Internet connections.
WORKAROUND
Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.
To work around this problem, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
- Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sybari Software\Antigen For Exchange\EngineDownloadTimeout - Double-click the EngineDownloadTimeout registry entry, and then type 600 in the Value box.
When you set the EngineDownloadTimeout registry entry to 600, the engine download process times out after 10 minutes.
Note You do not have to restart the Antigen services or the Microsoft Exchange Server services after you change this registry entry.
